At the electrotechnical school “Gjin Gazulli” in Pristina, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Albin Kurti together with the Deputy Minister of MESTI, Taulant Kelmendi participated in the closing activity of the Hour of Code Week, in which case the students of the “Gjin Gazulli” Vocational School in Pristina presented the Hackathon-Prototype 112 mobile application.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that the demonstration of the students’ joint work was impressive, while he announced that, from the next school year, the coding language will be included in the education curricula in Kosovo as a subject, from the first grade.
Prime Minister Kurti also emphasized that, this week through the Hour of Coding in Kosovo, we have seen the development of potential and the birth of innovation for the future.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Taulant Kelmendi, said that MESTI in cooperation with SHPIK, Code.org and schools for the first time implemented the Hour of Coding initiative in 300 schools.
Deputy Minister Kelmendi also said that the Hour of Coding was launched in 2013 by the international organization as a revolutionary initiative in technology, with the main goal of creating a global movement that encourages everyone to learn coding and technology, starting from childhood early.
