About SHPIK

SHPIK – (acronym stands for: Shoqata Profesionale e Informaticientëve të Kosovës, in English: Professional Association of Kosovo Informaticians) - is the representative organization of professionals working in the field of IT in the Republic of Kosovo. SHPIK, initially founded in 2013, commenced its operational work in 2022, thanks to the financial support of the Austrian Development Cooperation and with the support of Austrian Development Agency (ADA), OCG (Austrian Computer Association) and Smart Bits.

Our Agenda

SHPIK will focus on:

  • Representing the interests of the local IT community inside and outside the country
  • Connecting the local IT community within the country and with sister communities in other countries
  • Advancement of ICT professions in Kosovo
  • Supporting government institutions in the drafting of relevant policies
  • Cooperation with other representative organizations of businesses and professionals on common topics
  • Encouraging and supporting innovation in IT
  • Advancement of digital skills
  • Supporting and promoting of digital transformation of society (education, production and manufacturing, government, health, justice, etc.)
  • Supporting the development and advancement of curricula for digital skills
  • Providing support for quality assurance in IT education
  • Certification of digital skills
  • Promotion of Kosovo as an IT Near-/Offshoring for European and International Companies
