Code.org offers a variety of fun lessons geared toward students of all ages and experience levels in coding. Find an activity from the list of activities that suits your class and plan to do it in the classroom or in the ICT cabinet. Each activity includes a lesson plan for the teacher to lead the lesson and carry out the activity.

Activities in the Hour of Coding can be done in two ways:

1. Using computers connected to the Internet. But you don't need every student to have a computer. If you don't have enough computers in the classroom, use pair programming. When students come together, they help each other and rely less on the teacher.
2. You can organise the Hour of Code without a computer at all! For unplugged activities, simply choose one of the activities listed below and read the instructions on how to do it.

• Compile the relevant plan according to the activities you want to hold during the week of November 13-17, 2023.
• If you are doing the activity in the classroom (UNPLUGGED), give the instructions to the students on how they should act
• If you are doing the activity with computers, create the session on Code.org and choose how students will access the session
• Plan to show the video tutorial of the activity on a projector in front of the class or through notes on the board so that each student receives the appropriate instructions
• Publish the developed activities on school/personal social networks and tag @SHPIK, @Code.org, #HourOfCode, #SHPIK #CODEORG.

Once it's time for Hour of Code, be sure to kick off the event strong with some tips and then write the link to the lesson/activity on the board or display it on the screen via the projector.

If your students are struggling, it's okay to respond:

• "I don't know. Let's figure this out together."
• "Technology doesn't always work the way we want it to."
• “Learning to program is like learning a new language; you won't be fluent right away.”

What if a student finishes the activity early?

• He can try another Hour of Code activity.
• Or, he can help classmates who are have difficulty doing the activity.
